Beginning each year's events are the local stock shows culminating
with the
Floyd County Junior Livestock Show held in January. In March,
the
Floyd County Friends Gala is held at the
Unity Center in Muncy with proceeds supplementing the Center's
operational costs. A 3 course meal (served by 4-H members), music,
an auction and the traditional $1,000 giveaway are just some of
the fun and entertainment you'll enjoy at this annual fundraiser.
The last
Saturday of May, the
Old
Settlers' Reunion will honor the past, as well as present people
that have and do help make Floyd County such a wonderful place to
live and work. For lots of games for children and adults come to
St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church for Jamaica in July. Live music,
food, volleyball and a 5K Fun Run are just part of the planned
activities.
On the Second Saturday of October,
Punkin Day
returns to downtown Floydada attracting
visitors from everywhere. Over 70 craft booths and 20 food vendors
will be open for business. Hourly entertainment is provided under
the Pavilion adjacent to the Courthouse, while on the Square,
games for all ages continue throughout the day. That night, a free
street dance closes out the festivities.
Closing out the year's events in December is Christmas on the
Square. All the downtown stores stay open late and offer over 50
door prizes for some lucky shoppers. Santa always comes by to
enjoy the fun, food, and photos with the kids.
See you in Floydada SOON!
